Visiting Maui? Help Maui heal, help Maui roar!E kōkua i ka ho'ōla ʻana iā Maui

Proudly aligned with the spirit of aloha — and engaging with the Maui Chamber of Commerce. 🌺 Stay longer. Give back. Help Maui ROAR again.

How it works

- Apply to STAY or HOST.
- We personally match you.
- You live and give: stay 30–90 days or more, and support a local cause, give back. In return, ROAR hosts extend rates closer to long-term rental rates.
R.O.A.R. = Real Owners Awesome Rentals. To us, ‘Real Owners’ are full-time Hawaii residents who live here, steward their land with care, and want to share aloha with guests.ROAR Maui is a new model of conscious, regenerative travel designed specifically for Maui. The platform connects mindful travelers with local Hawaiian hosts—not absentee landlords or corporations—at fair-market rates. In return, guests contribute meaningfully to the local community.

Impact and values

✅ 100% of homes are locally owned✅ 100% of booking fees go to island nonprofits✅ 100% of guests give back to kupuna, beaches, or local orgs

ABOUTI first came to Hawaiʻi in 2014, and like many, fell in love. Not with the postcard version. What draws my wife and I back year after year—mostly to Maui—is the deep relationship between the people and the land.
The sense of place. The humility. The mana.
After a decade of returning—and missing only two years due to external circumstances—we’re now seeking to spend extended time on Maui. But we want to do it the right way: in a way that gives back, supports kamaʻāina, and respects the complex challenges facing the island—and Hawaiʻi as a whole. That’s where ROAR was born.-------------------------------------------ROAR is:
- For local, resident homeowners — not shell companies or absentee investors
- For guests who stay longer, contribute locally, and care about their footprint
- For a model that directs platform revenue into Maui-based nonprofits and causes
- For people who want to use their wallet and willpower to help, not harm
We want to help Maui roar again — by making housing access part of the solution, not the problem.
